The Dietary Secret to Glowing Skin

Gluten Free is a hot topic these days.

It has even spawned a whole new industry. There are now tons of gluten free products on the shelves of grocery stores. Restaurants are even offering Gluten Free menu items.

Just last night I was at a birthday dinner party at Vitellos Italian Restaurant, and several of the guests, myself included eat gluten free. Thank goodness Vitellos offers gluten free pizza and pasta.

Gluten intolerance can really wreak havoc on your health. In fact there are more than 55 diseases that have been linked to gluten.

Excessive Gas
Fatigue, especially after eating
Brain Fog
Autoimmune diseases Rheumatoid Arthritis, Ulcerative Colitis, Lupus, Hashimoto’s thyroiditis, Psoriasis, Multiple Sclerosis
Hormone imbalances, PMS, and unexplained infertility
Migraine Headaches
And much more

Shockingly 99% of people who suffer from gluten intolerance go undiagnosed.

There is also a skin issue associated with gluten intolerance.

Keratosis Pilaris, also known as chicken skin, on the back of your arms. This is a result of the gluten damaging the gut and blocking the absorption of essential fatty acids and Vitamin A.

The bottom line is it doesn’t matter whether you are gluten intolerant or not. Gluten causes inflammation, which always effects the health of your skin.

Years ago my Mom went on Dr. Perricone’s Anti Wrinkle Diet, which happened to be Gluten Free. Dr. Perricone designed the diet to be very anti inflammatory.

I could not get over the difference in my Mom’s skin in just a short 3 weeks. I literally ask her “ Mom what have you done? You look amazing?”

I thought maybe she had had a face lift, or some sort of cosmetic procedure. But no, it was just the diet.

Why is gluten, that we get mainly from wheat, seem to be causing so many issues today?

Dr. Mark Hyland explains that the wheat we consume today is very different from the wheat your great grandmother used to bake bread with.

Today’s wheat is FrankenWheat, a scientifically engineered food product that has been developed over the last 50 years.

This new FrankenWheat
It contains a form of Super Gluten that is super-inflammatory.
It contains a Super Starch – amylopectin A that is super fattening.
It contains forms of a Super Drug that is super-addictive and makes you crave and eat more.

So not only does Gluten cause major inflammation, making our skin look dull, it is also very addicting and makes us fat.

Today, just two slices of whole wheat bread raise your blood sugar faster and higher than 2 Tablespoons of sugar.

This is just plain crazy!

Guess what, food is not the only place we are exposed to gluten. Gluten derived ingredients are in many personal care products and skin care.
