If you read my blog Prevent Breast Cancer and Age Less, Sign me Up! You will remember that one of Dr. Christine Horner’s top 2 tips for preventing breast cancer is to consume 2 – 3 Tablespoons of ground flax seed every day.

So I bought organic flax seeds from www. mountainroseherbs.com (they have the best deal and they are organic) or you can get them at your local health food store. I also bought a coffee grinder now known as the flax grinder and began my new delicious breakfast ritual.
First I grind 2 Tablespoons of flax seed to get 3 Tablespoons of ground flax seed.
- FLAX FILLED BREAKFAST RECIPE
- 1/2 organic apple, skin on, chopped and placed in a bowl
- Pour 3 Tablespoons of freshly ground organic flax seed on top of the apples
- ¼ teaspoon of fresh organic cinnamon sprinkled on top of the apples
- Pour ½ cup organic raw grass fed milk on top
The apples make it just sweet enough and when you grind your flax seed fresh daily it really has a delicious nutty flavor that you don’t get when you buy flax that is already ground.
The fresh cinnamon adds a great flavor and evens out your blood sugar. I get my cinnamon at www.mountainroseherbs.com because it is so fresh and organic. Most cinnamon you buy at the grocery store is old. When you smell really fresh cinnamon it is absolutely heavenly.
There are many variations you can play with….you can substitute the milk with almond or rice milk or even yougart. Instead of apples you can use strawberries or any berry or any fruit for that matter.
I know this will gross out some of you but a lot of the time I put the milk along with the cinnamon and an organic pasture raised raw egg in the blender and then pour over the fruit and flax. It is absolutely delicious.

I do want to responsibly point out that any time you eat raw egg there is the risk of salmonella poisoning, and if you do decide to eat raw eggs it is very important to get the freshest organic pasture raised eggs possible.
An interesting side note, if you are near my age you may remember when Orange Julius drinks were sold at the mall. The ingredients were orange juice, vanilla and raw eggs. They were so delicious.
Once eggs became mass produced in egg farms with chickens being raised in inhumane conditions, no longer fed their natural diet, well that’s when salmonella started happening more frequently and there was a campaign to no longer eat raw eggs. Too bad there wasn’t a campaign back then to raise chickens more humanely instead.
