Meditation has become a way of life for me.
One of the first things that I personally noticed after beginning my meditation regimen was that my skin actually began to look fresher and younger.
There are even deeper things happening when you meditate.
Researchers at Harvard Medical School discovered that people who meditate had far more “disease-fighting genes” activated than people who do not meditate.
If meditation becomes a regular practice, Harvard found that the benefits continue to increase over time.
- Increased Immunity
- Emotional Balance
- Increased Fertility
- Relieves Irritable Bowel Syndrome
- Lowers Blood Pressure
If you are new to meditation, no worries, you can start out with just 5 minutes a day. Just sit in a comfortable chair either Indian/Yoga style or with your feet on the ground. Make sure your spine is straight. Breathe in through your nose for 4 counts and exhale through your mouth in the ahh position for 4 counts.
You can choose to focus solely on your breath or you can pick a mantra to say over and over (mine is “everything is always working out for me”) or you can visualize something that makes you feel happy, like the ocean or the mountains or anything your heart desires.
There are also many meditation CDs.
There are four subjects on the CD to choose from,
- General Well-Being
- Physical Well-Being
- Financial Well-Beings
The music and the voice-over instantly put me in a deep meditative state.
For me, meditating is an ageless beauty practice that delivers results. Give it a try for a couple of weeks, you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.
