Turns out I was wrong.
Of course how can you make the right choice when fed misleading information from manufacturers, corporations and the media?
Distilled and Reverse Osmosis (RO) water not only accelerates aging it is downright dangerous.
Many people have Reverse Osmosis (RO) systems in their home. It seems like the best “bang for your buck” way to go when it comes to drinking clean water. After all it is cheaper than having water delivered to your door.
A Reverse Osmosis system removes the bad stuff, chlorine and fluoride, but unfortunately it also removes all of the good stuff that our body needs, minerals.
The water that is left after going through the RO system is a water that has no trace minerals left, making the water acidic.
The same thing happens with distilled water, which is water that has been boiled, evaporated, then the vapor condensed, causing the water to be free of trace minerals.
A recent World Health Organization study says that drinking water must have trace minerals to promote good health.
In a paper by F. Kozisek of the World Health Organization (WHO), water low in calcium and magnesium, such as distilled water and reverse osmosis water is associated with the following health problems:
• Cardiovascular disease
• Gastric and duodenal ulcers
• Chronic gastritis
• Growth disorders
• Higher risk of bone fracture in children
• Neurodegenerative diseases
• Motor neuronal diseases
• Pre-term births, low birth weights, and preeclampsia
• Various types of cancer
• Increased risk of “sudden death”
• Acute magnesium and calcium deficiency, weakness, fatigue and muscle cramping
Water that no longer has minerals is acidic. The longer one drinks distilled or reverse osmosis water, the more likely a person is to become deficient in minerals and more acidic. The more acidic the body becomes, aging is accelerated and disease sets in.
To make matters worse, when you continue to consume acidic water, the body works to correct the acidic issue by leaching minerals out of your bones.
Could this be one of the reasons osteoporosis is so rampant in this country? Well it certainly contributes to the problem.
Another issue with water that has had minerals removed is that it does not hydrate the body very well. This is why you can drink 6-8 glasses a day of water and still be dehydrated.
In the 1950’s Distilled Water was sold in drug stores to be used in car batteries and steam irons. Distilled water was always labeled “not for drinking”.
Similarly Reverse Osmosis systems were originally developed for industry that needed mineral free water, such as photography labs.
Both Distilled Water and Reverse Osmosis water were originally not intended for human consumption.
What kind of water should an ageless beauty drink?
You want pure clean water that has not had chlorine or fluoride added and minerals removed.
You can drink spring water, or my personal favorite, alkaline water.
I have 5 gallon jugs of Tru Alka delivered to my doorstep.
Drinking water is something you already do. Making a switch to water that promotes good health is one of the easiest things you can do to slow down the aging process and become the ageless beauty you were born to be.
