Anti Aging Strategy #1 The Forgotten Miracle of Vitamin C
Vitamin C is vital in helping prevent sagging skin.
Your skin reflects the health of your internal body, your toxicity levels, your dietary deficiencies, your emotional harmony, and your hormonal balances. So if you are experiencing sagging skin and lots of wrinkles, this is not just an issue of beauty, this is a sign that you need to work on the state of your health.
Why does the skin wrinkle and sag?
At age 30 collagen production begins slowing down. Then at age 40 menopause begins and can cause hormonal balances that also effect collagen levels.
Collagen is a protein mesh that not only holds the skin onto the skeleton, it holds the entire body together.
What can you do to help your body produce more collagen?
You must consume plenty of vitamin C for the body to produce collagen.
The body can not produce collagen without vitamin C.
Scurvy, one of the most horrific diseases known to man was caused when sailors would go on long journeys and run out of fresh food. They became so deficient in Vitamin C that the body was no longer able to produce collagen.

So what happens when the body experiences moderate vitamin C deficiencies?
According to Dr. David Brownstein, moderate vitamin C deficiencies cause sub clinical scurvy and he says he sees it every day in at least half of his patients.

How much Vitamin C does the body need to not only produce plenty of collagen but to experience optimal health?
The US Recommended Daily Allowance is only 90 mg. You could get that by eating 2 oranges or eating a red bell pepper or a bowl of leafy greens.
But maybe the human body needs much more vitamin C than 90 mg a day.
Orthomolecular Medicine specialist, Dr. Andrew Saul says that humans still carry the enzyme to make our own vitamin c, but at some point in history a mutation occurred and the enzyme was turned off. Humans no longer manufacturer vitamin C.
Scientist know that most of the animal kingdom still produces their own Vitamin C. Here is where it gets interesting. Healthy animals produce the human equivalent of 2 – 12,000 mg of vitamin c a day. The minute an animal gets sick, their bodies produce the human equivalent of 50,000 mg or more of vitamin C per day.
Dr. Andrew Saul says that maybe the USRDA of just 90 mg of vitamin C per day is wrong, very wrong.
Dr. Andrew Saul as well as many other holistic doctors believe that the average healthy adult needs a minimum of 5 – 6,000 mg of Vitamin C a day spread out over 3 doses. 2,000mg three times a day, such as breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
If animals produce more vitamin C when they get sick, how much do humans need when they get sick.
Scientist know that the sicker a person is, the more vitamin C is needed. Dr. Saul says that the moment you start feeling ill or you get sick with a cold, the flu, pneumonia, any illness, take vitamin C to bowel tolerance.
You take 2,000 mg of vitamin C every 1/2 hour or every hour. The moment you get an upset stomach or begin to experience diarreah you have reached bowel tolerance. This means that at that given moment your body has reached it’s limit of the amount of vitamin C it can handle. At this point you do NOT stop taking vitamin C you just cut the dose in half and continue. Do this every day all day until you are completely well.
Vitamin C is non toxic. No one has ever died from taking too much Vitamin C.
What kind of Vitamin C should you take?
The cheapest is plain old Ascorbic Acid. I buy mine at Costco.
Buffered Vitamin C is easier on the stomach.

In today’s world we are bombarded with toxins on a daily basis. 90% of the toxins we experience are self inflicted. Most people don’t realize this, but once you do, you can do something about it.
We are experiencing toxins through the food we eat, the water we drink and shower in, the air we breath, the clothes we wear, and the products we put on our skin, hair and nails.
The average woman absorbs 2 – 5 lbs of toxic sludge every year from skin care, make-up, body lotions, and hair care. You can greatly reduce your exposure to toxins by choosing toxic free products. Epsom Salt Baths will also help the body detox. Pour 2 cups of Epsom Salt into a deep hot bath. Before jumping in, take a body brush and brush entire body towards the heart. Make sure to brush the lymph areas behind the knees, under the arms, and the neck all toward the heart. Soak for 20 minutes. Then take a quick shower to rinse all the toxins off the skin.
Exercise and drinking plenty of alkaline water will also help the body detox.
Another way to detox that has become very popular is the Infrared Sauna. The Infrared helps the cells heat up from the inside out which has a greater detoxing effect than a normal sauna.
One of my favorite ways to detox is lying on The Bio Matt. The Bio Matt is full of amethyst crystals and emits an infrared heat that also helps the body to detox.
